Alice and the Dream Thief

to design the cover and chapter illustrations for the book "Alice and the Dream Thief"

After initial talks with the author, it became clear that his original idea was far too detailed and gave too much of the story away. So I began to ask questions as to what he wanted to gain from the cover design. The author wanted something mysterious and eye-catching. The one word, he said, that stood out to me was 'irresistible'. We decided to play on the idea of a typically simple book cover with an interactive twist. This resulted in taking an essential feature from the book and combining it with the typography. The final cover design sees many tentacles breaking out from the book cover and intertwining with the title.
